About The Event
This month, join us for a special, experimental session of Baltimore Boom Bap Society. The evening will eschew any guest emcee and instead feature a string ensemble and breath art led by Baltimore-based artist, Shodekeh. In the absence of emcees, we will be allowing space for a more full exploration of textural elements in the domain of live beat-based improvisation. The evening will close with an open cypher that all guests can participate in.

BALTIMORE BOOM BAP x LE MONDO
Every last Friday of the month at Le Mondo, our resident artists Baltimore Boom Bap Society bring you a night of live, improvised hip-hop featuring special guest  musicians. Join us for this Friday, October 28, and all Last Fridays  of the month at Le Mondo.
ABOUT THE SERIES
The Baltimore Baltimore Boom Bap Society is a  collaboration between producers Erik Spangler (DJ Dubble8) and Wendel  Patrick.  Their monthly improvised hip hop series is conceived as a forum  for  experimentation and collaboration between local hip hop artists,  while  placing hip hop in dialogue with other forms of music. Wendel  Patrick  & DJ Dubble8 invite special guests from Baltimore and beyond  to  perform with them in diverse combinations and explore a hybrid of  free  improvisation and beat-based composition.  This much-lauded series  ran  from 2011-2019 at the beloved and now-shuttered Windup Space. After a   two year hiatus, we are so excited to give them a new performance home   for experimentation, collaboration and community-building.
