About The Event
Le Mondo presents HOMAGE TO OUR ANCESTORS, a multidisciplinary art and performance event for the release of Coconut Paradise, a new literary work from local writer Esterline Vielot.
Part interactive installation, part performance, the evening centers around Afro-Haitian heritage, roots, and traditions as well as the experience of reconnecting to these ancestral legacies to gain more complex perspectives of one's self and the world around them.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Esterline Vielot is a Haitian-born literary and women’s fiction writer and film producer. Her work spans short stories, film and TV scripts, books, and film. Previously, she worked on film sets nationally and internationally in as a show developer and writer. Currently, she is writing a book series, a play and hosts monthly writing workshops.
Esterline’s passion for storytelling developed as a young child when she began reading as a way to pass time and since then she’s become an avid reader, finding appreciation in the art of telling stories, imagining new worlds, and creating dynamic characters. Currently, Esterline’s stories focus on her Haitian identity and heritage with emphasis on themes she’s grappling with in her journey of self-discovery, unlearning and learning things that shaped her, themes such as cultural roots, familial relationships, ancestral connections, death, and magical realism.
Sadia (Musical Performance)

Sadia is a Maryland-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist dedicated to creating diverse sonic works,with captivating vocals, potent lyrics and a powerful delivery. Her work has been performed at venues throughout the Baltimore and DC areas, featured in films, and most recently, featured on NPR’s All Things Considered.
Marassa Drummers (Musical Performance)

Marassa band is a local Baltimore African drumming band that specializes in Afro-Haitian spiritual, folklore, and Vodou music.
Eudemonia Herbs (Herbal Mixology Workshop)

Brittany Williams is a clinical and community herbalist and the founder of Eudemonia Herbs, a Baltimore-based herbal wellness brand offering custom tea blends, spirited and spirit-free mixology workshops, and holistic consultations. Through her work, Brittany empowers people to weave herbs into daily life with joy, intention, and creativity. Eudemonia Herbs celebrates well-being in every blend, one sip at a time.
Gerardson Nozea (Visual Artist)

Gerardson was born in New York to Haitian immigrants, raised in South Florida, and is now a local Baltimore visual artist. Gerardson holds a liberal arts degree from the University of Maryland. He is a self-taught artist who has traveled to over 90 countries and fought in two wars. He would describe his method of art as fusion blending acrylics and spray paint.
