About The Event
Black Audio Society [Live] is a real world iteration of gum.mp3’s internet radio program at Dublab, meant to steward the conservation and appreciation of black music. In this session, Cheeky Willie and DJ Diaspora help guide us through a world of wax – expect crisp drums, organic basslines, and moody Rhodes. Join us at Le Mondo in Baltimore for an intergenerational vinyl-only night!

ABOUT THE ORGANIZER
gum.mp3 is from rural North Carolina, and is a current Baltimore resident.
He fuses regional flavors of dance music with elements of funk and jazz to assess different chunks of black music history and genealogy under a futurist agenda.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Black Audio Society is an internet radio program lead by Gum.mp3 for the conservation and enjoyment of black music. The aim is to identify sociopolitical context, analyze the development and mixture of genres over time, and imagine the future of black music in both theory and practice. Through guest mixes and periodic deep dives into the history of this music, B.A.S. serves as an alternative destination for black music discovery and appreciation.
