ABOUT HENBANE
Philadelphia's Henbane was formed in the summer of 2023 by Kohoutek percussionist Scott Verastro and bassist Griffen Vernor Drutchas based on the framework of 1968-70 Fairport Convention. Adapting traditional ballads to contemporary times, their music covers a repetoire of British Isle folk ballads, lyrical gems from 60s and 70s songwriters, and original compositions.
The quintet also features vocalist Eva Sheppard, guitarist John Comune (Bitter Wish/Strawberry Hands), and violinist John Courtsey (The Deadeyes/Kohoutek).
