SUBSCAPE IS RAISING FUNDS TO KEEP THE FESTIVAL FREE & OPEN TO ALL

Baltimore has ALWAYS been a city of transcendent, unwieldy extremes. Subscape is a free, weekend-long showcase of that iconic underground. This year’s fest peels deep into the underbelly, exposing a DIY tunnel just for the freaks.

MEET THE ORGANIZERS

MICHAEL HABIF As the founder and creative director of Showplace, he has created Baltimore’s most comprehensive guide to Baltimore's underground music events. A veteran of the Baltimore music scene, he is known for drumming in bands such as Tripper and Leisure Sport.

ANDY PHILLIPS

Wax Atlas Records owner Andy Phillips is a veteran of event programming who worked in various capacities on Scape Scape and Fields Fest, and currently runs a DIY show space in Hamilton-Lauraville. He still remembers how hard the CopyCat floor was in '08.

KIM TE

As former head of booking at The Crown they booked 40-50 shows a month, working with countless local, regional, and national acts. Guitarist for Natural Velvet, Kim Te is Baltimore’s #1 purveyor of distorted echo.
